WHAT DO I NEED TO WEAR?

Apart from the most important thing, a friendly disposition .
No Gi Jiu Jitsu/Wrestling

The most common type of attire for No Gi Jiu Jitsu/Wrestling class is compression shorts or bottoms (sometimes called spats) and a top. Keep in mind that you will be rolling around, so garments that provide coverage to your comfort are ideal.
Muay Thai/Boxing/Striking

Striking classes all you need to bring is comfortable clothing to train in with no zips, metal or buttons on.

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED TO TRAIN?

No Gi Jiu Jitsu/Wrestling no equipment needed.
Muay Thai/Boxing and striking, you will need boxing gloves, shin guards and a mouth guard.
We have a limited supply of gloves and shin guards available for you to borrow for your first few sessions. Please feel free to bring your own training equipment, and we also sell Granite Gym branded equipment here.

HOW MUCH ARE THE CLASSES?

Come hit any class you fancy for £10, an after you can either continue like that or consider the membership option for unlimited classes and mat time.

DO I NEED TO SPAR?

No, the choice is always yours, you don't need to spar but if you decide to remember, you will only get hit as hard as you try to hit your training partner

 DO I NEED EXPERIENCE TO TRAIN HERE?

You do not need experience in martial arts or fitness to start training with us. 
Martial arts is for everyone I'm happy for beginners join the firm every day! 

DO I HAVE TO BE IN SHAPE TO START TRAINING?

You do not need to be in shape to join us – you join us to get in shape! Workouts are modified for every ability status in the class, so your current level of fitness will not hinder your ability to participate.

I AM NOT VERY FLEXIBLE OR COORDINATED, WILL THIS AFFECT MY TRAINING?

Flexibility and coordination are not required to start, but both will improve with dedication to your training.

IS PERSONAL TRAINING AVAILABLE?

Yes, private sessions are available in hour slots, these can be for yourself, a small group or you and a friend. You will be given custom advice on how to improve your game quickly so that you can progress at a quicker rate. 
If you are having any issues in the normal group classes, always ask for help and you’ll be given it right away.

IF I TRAIN HERE DO I NEED TO BECOME A FIGHTER?

You do not need to become a fighter to join our team. 
Some people train here just because they enjoy it, all are welcome to go to the level they want. 

I WANT TO FIGHT, WHEN CAN I FIGHT?

If you are looking for a shortcut or the easy way, this might not be the gym for you.
The choice to fight is up to you.
The when and where is up to me and the other coaches.
Display the hard work dedication and competence and we will get you in there, title hunting. 

IS THIS TYPE OF TRAINING FOR WOMEN?

Training is for everyone! 
No matter the age or sex, we have several dedicated women on our team who would be happy to help you as you start.
